Following the strategic policy of carrying industry stakeholders along in his administration of Customs Affairs at the TinCan Island Ports, the Customs Area Controller TCIP, Compt Dera Nnadi mni, today 30th September, 2024. met with strategic managers and relevant stakeholders in the port business and robbed minds with them on new modalities of what is expected of stakeholders who do business in the Command on a daily basis. The CAC used the occasion to roll out Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at the Port for port business operators.

Emphasising again his theme for the year 2024, which is “A year For Stakeholders” the CAC stated that, well-being of all who come to do business in the TCIP command is a priority to him. Dera Stated”

While Highlighting the significant role of stakeholders within the port corridor, Comptroller Dera Applauded their relentless effort as the year falls on the last quarter, however, in a bid to ensure that the revenue for the year is achieved as he calls for compliance and ensures all hand are on deck towards the success of the Command.

In a Statement released by the Command’s Spokesperson NN Okwara, reiterates the CAC’s commitment and emphasised the struggles stakeholders go through during the ember season, especially towards the end of the year, stating that genuine declarations from complaint traders will not have issues of delay but for those who think they can circumvent the system should have themselves to blame as cutting of corners will not be negotiated

The PRO further to state that Comptroller Dera Nnadi has ensured that all new crested bonded terminals domincile in TCIP has space available for stakeholders while they go about their legitimate businesses, but at the headquarters here, no such space has been created. He promised that he would look critically into it as renovations are ongoing within the premises. He further advised stakeholders to learn and keep the environment clean, pending when new bins will be distributed at designated areas, as a clean environment portrays a healthy lifestyle.

Conclusively, The Comptroller Dera Nnadi also allows stakeholders to express their views, opinions and questions from stakeholders, which he answered and promised that all issues raised will be looked into going forward.
