The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd), condoled with the Commissioner of Police on the demise of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Administration (DC Admin). The Chairman also congratulated the CP on his appointment and commended the proactive role of the Lagos State Police Command during previous elections.
The delegation further informed the CP of the forthcoming Councillorship By-Elections scheduled for Tuesday, 23rd June 2026, in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area (Ward C), Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (Ward H), and Somolu Local Government Area (Ward F). They sought the continued support and collaboration of the Lagos State Police Command to ensure peaceful and credible elections.
In his response, CP Tijani Fatai appreciated the visit, describing it as a demonstration of goodwill and institutional partnership. He assured the delegation of adequate security deployment before, during, and after the elections, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful electoral process across the affected areas.
