A.B.U class of 97, shows solidarity and support of AIG Jimoh Mishood, amidst stories circulating online

On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire members of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Political Science/International Studies (PS/IS) Class of ’97, we write to express our solidarity and unwavering support to you amidst the various reports and narratives currently circulating on social media concerning the ongoing Ajiran murder investigation.

As responsible citizens who believe in the rule of law, we recognise that senior law enforcement officers are often required to undertake difficult and sensitive assignments in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities. We equally believe that every allegation against a public official should be examined through lawful investigation and judicial processes, guided by credible evidence rather than public sentiment or social media narratives.

While the matter remains before the courts, we consider it appropriate to reaffirm our confidence in the principles of due process, fairness and the presumption of innocence guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are confident that the truth will ultimately emerge through the judicial process.

We therefore encourage you to remain resolute, professional and steadfast in the discharge of your duties. We trust that your commitment to justice, integrity and the rule of law will continue to inspire confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian public.

Please accept the assurances of our esteem, prayers and best wishes as you continue to serve our nation with dedication and honour.

E-Signed
