At least nine (9) farmers were massacred and many others are missing when suspected Boko Haram terrorist members invaded Koshebe, Karakul and Bulabulin communities of Jere and Mafa local government areas of Borno state.
Most of the victims were rice farmers in the Zabarmari area of Jere council who had gone to the fields to harvest their crops, although dozens remained missing.
Nearly three years ago, precisely in November 2020, terrorists invaded the same rice fields and massacred about 73 farmers, leaving dozens missing.
Confirming the incident, the representative representing Jere in Parliament, Hon. Ahmed Satomi said the new attacks, especially targeting poor farmers, were alarming.
