Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has apologized to the people of the state over the recent political crisis in the state.
He described the crisis as “the unfortunate worries of recent days,” saying it was important to make sacrifices so that peace would reign.
Fubara said this in a statement he signed, titled “Peace is Priceless”, released to journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Saturday.
While recalling the bombing of the National Assembly complex and the division among lawmakers, the Governor explained that his visit to the House was to assess the extent of damage caused by the fire and implement take corrective measures to protect lives and property inside the Parliament complex.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his intervention which he said had opened a series of channels of communication to achieve a peaceful solution to the crisis. The governor added that no sacrifice was too much for him, saying it was the collective responsibility of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike and himself, to use his position to promote progress, security and happiness of the people.
