Lagos Senator laud AIG Zone 2, commends his leadership role, pledges support for enhanced security in Lagos

The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Distinguished Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, on Monday, 20th July, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh at the Zonal Headquarters.

The visit was aimed at strengthening cordial relationship while fostering strategic collaboration in enhancing public safety, sustaining peace and improving security across Lagos and the Zone at large.

The Distinguished Senator, who was accompanied by members of his entourage, expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and commended the leadership of Zone 2 Headquarters for their commitment, professionalism and sacrifices in ensuring the protection of lives and property within Lagos and Ogun States.

Speaking during the visit, Distinguished Senator Wasiu Eshilokun lauded the remarkable efforts of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining law and order despite prevailing security challenges. He acknowledged the dedication and resilience of the Police Officers in preserving the relative peace enjoyed across Lagos and its environs. The Distinguished Senator further encouraged officers to remain steadfast in the professional discharge of their constitutional duties, assuring them of his continued support and confidence in their ability to deliver effective policing services to the people.

Responding, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Olohundare Jimoh expressed profound appreciation to the Distinguished Senator for finding time from his busy schedule to prioritize a visit to the Zone. He described the visit as a strong demonstration of confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and an encouragement to officers and men who continue to make immense sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.

The AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force under the visionary leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthening community−oriented policing, enhancing operational effectiveness, and sustaining the prevailing peace across Lagos and Ogun States. He further assured the Distinguished Senator and the general public that Zone 2 Headquarters would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
