Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager has admitted one of the top teams in the Premier League as Southampton when it comes to defending with ball.
This was made known in a statement by Pep following his side’s 1-0 victory on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium against Southampton.
Pep Guardiola had in an interview with BBC applauded the team for their active and restless demanding style of play likewise way of maintaining possession.
He said, “The way they played, they are so demanding. They defend with the ball.”
“You can defend with the ball, and they are really good at it—one of the best in the Premier League.”
“They didn’t create many chances, but we created a lot. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score a second. I give big credit to them; it wasn’t due to us being sloppy or flat; I don’t have that feeling. We have to accept that.”
