“Fuel price hike, a threat to our future” – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has in a statement made it known that there’s going to be a nationwide strike in protest of the recent fuel price hike by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on September 15, 2024.

Statement reads, “Fuel Price Hike: A Threat to Our Future,” NANS National Senate President Henry Okunomo revealed his dissatisfaction with the price hike, calling it an “egregious act.”

NANS urging the students nationwide, civil society organizations together with the masses to collaborate and join in the peaceful protest, vowing to “rise in unison” to demand a better deal for Nigerian students and the masses as they request immediate reversal of the fuel hike price hike.

NANS also criticizes Mele Kyari, of NNPCL for his incompetence and inability to deliver on his mandate which causes hardship to the masses.

NANS likewise demanded the removal of Mr. Kyari as the director of the NNPCL
