The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has apprehended a man of 85-year which was suspected to be a kidnapper, Ibrahim Usman, at Yar’adua quarters, Rimin Kebe, Ungogo LGA Kano State.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, who is the Command’s spokesman, made this known in a statement said: the suspect abducted a 3-year-old boy in his neighbourhood and attempted to hide him in his friend’s residence situated at Hotoro bye-pass in Kano State but upon suspecting foul play, the friend refused to keep the boy in his custody and decided to alert residents where the suspect lived at Rimin Kebe.

“This development led the suspect to run away and he was later picked up by personnel of the Corp’s Ungogo division.

“Worthy of note is that the suspect had in the last two months collected the victim’s father’s phone number but never called him for once,” Abdullahi said.

However, revealed that the investigation into the case has reached an advanced stage and upon conclusion, the suspect will be charged to court, Abdullahi said.
