Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who was an Ex-governor of Yobe State from 1991-1992 and 1999-2007, died on Sunday, February 4, 2024, and have been laid to rest in Saudi Arabia. He was 75 years before his death.
Senator Ibrahim, who governed Yobe State and also served three terms in the Senate, was receiving medical treatment in Saudi Arabia before he finally gave up the ghost.
In accordance with the Senior Special Assistant, Communications and Strategy to Governor Mai Mala Buni, Yusuf Ali, the funeral ceremony was held at the Grand Mosque, Masjid Al Haram on Monday, February 5, after the dawn prayers.
The fidau prayers was said to have taken place twice after the Fajr prayers, while Governor Mai Mala Buni, sympathize with the family over the loss, said he has taken steps to ensure that the late senator is honoured with a ceremonial state burial.
