David Umahi, the Minister of Works, had made it known that the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway will take 24 months to be completed.
He said this during an inspection of the Abuja-Kaduna section of the highway on Friday, where he was accompanied by Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Economy, explaining that the government has made a new timeline, shortly after both the government and the contractor reached an agreement with one another on the road, which the contractor was Julius Berger Construction Company. Meanwhile, Former President, Muhammadu Buhari led administration had given the contract in 2018 on a completion ultimatum of 36 months but couldn’t completed as agreed.
He said, “Julius Berger had agreed to complete 15 kilometres daily because the new date was agreed on.”
