Dr. Solomon Arase, who is the former Inspector-General of Police and present Chairman, Police Service Commission, had on 6th February, 2024, led a team of Senior Police Officers under the sponsorship of the Police Veterans’ Foundation to paid a courtesy visit to the present Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM over a new foundation to be launched in Abuja by March 5, 2024.
The team which include the President, Association of Retired Police Officers (ARPON), DIG Mohammed Aminu Yesufu (Rtd.) who was in charge of Planning and Infotech (F Department) as it then was; CP Isah Grema (Rtd.) amongst others.
Purpose of the visit to IGP is based on planning the foundation to help in the areas of facilitating improved welfare for both serving and retired Police officers and willing to partner with the police on reviewing training manuals and curriculum across board, also supporting the police by volunteering as instructors in the various colleges and training schools and lots more.
IGP Kayode Egbetokun reacted by appreciating the group and promised to be inclusive in the plans of the Police Veteran’s Foundation as the plan will go a long way to help in the operation procedures and standardizing the Police Force.
