The popular Nigerian singer Waje, has made known how terribly she dislikes being rated as an “underrated artist.”
This is coming from Waje’s fans on social media, tagging her as an “underrated,” stating that her contribution to the music industry has given her edge and more accolades than she lease expected.
Waje, while speaking on the Secrets Behind the Scenes podcast said, she refused to be addressed as an underrated artist. Explaining further that “underrated” is not a good compliment as many assumed it to be.
“I do not like being addressed as an underrated artist. Words have power. Some people might celebrate it [being called underrated] and make it like, ‘People see who I am and that’s why they said so.’
Your perception of success is between you and your mind,” she said.
