following the unprecedented delay for Passengers across several United Nigeria Airlines routes departing Abuja were on Thursday 11th of Dec, 2025. left stranded and frustrated after a bird strike on one of the carrier’s aircraft which triggered multiple flight cancellations by the United Nigeria Airline.
In a short video Clip Sent to our correspondent via watsapp by one of the affected traveler, a crowd of passengers was seen protesting at the domestic wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after a prolong delay in responding to their requests without no prompt communication to addressed the issue of the delay, accusing the airline of neglect and poor hospitality.
However, the airline’s aircraft claimed to have suffered a bird strike, which necessitated the cancellation of many travelers trip at the point in time. However, the delay in communication from the airline further fueled tensions among passengers. which has caused lots of damage to business engagement for some affected travelers on the said date, cancellations of meetings due to uneccessary delay.
Speaking to one of the affected traveler with the flight number UN0559 Expressed displeasure over the unfortunate delay. Adding that spending the while day at the airport has made him looses multi-millions of Naira based on the failure to meet up with the agreed time between him and his business partner.
According to one of the affected passanger the fight was slated to depart Abuja on the 13th Dec, 2025. at about 9:00pm and Expected to land in Lagos on or before 10:15pm which subsequently shifted again wihile been stranded at Nnmadi Azikwe Airport, Abuja
He further implores the Aviaton regulatory body on regular Assessment concerning Airlines operators in Nigeria to avoid further reoccurence.
