Transfer Window: Dogan refuses to pay €15m for Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu

By Busari Kabirat

Trabzonspor Ertugrul Dogan, who is the Turkish club’s President, has refused to pay the sum of €15m for Paul Onuachu, the Super Eagles striker.

His intentions is to sign Onuachu on a permanent deal from Southampton following him impressing Trabzonspor during his loan spell last season.

However, the current negotiation status still makes Dogan hopeful that there can still be a strike of deal before the closure of the Turkish transfer window.

Dogan told Tivibu Spor via NTVSpor, he said: “Onuachu was a player who played for us on loan last season. His club [Southampton] insistently demands around 15 million euros. We offered 8 million euros with bonuses.”

“Trabzonspor cannot give 15 million euros to a football player right now. A player is 20-22 years old, it is our coach’s request, then it will be considered

“However, Trabzonspor cannot make such an offer to a 30-year-old player. The last 2-3 days. The situation is clear. We will wait and see.”
