STRIKE: An Industrial Action Nigeria Government Only Decode from Workers

By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

Ever since I have been developing in this Nation (Nigeria), I have been very conversant with the word strike, if it is not ASUU Strike, it will be NLC strike.

Nigeria Government needs to be proactive in their response to the demands of workers.

Before any strike is embarked upon by any government workers, there must have been different means of approach from the government workers.

The workers will either lobby around the government or either protest against maltreatment of the government as a means to ventilate their grievances to the government.

In Nigeria reverse is the case, our government only respond to strike as an industrial action to decode the grievances of the workers.

Is this the only language the Nigeria government understood. Most times before actions are been taken by the government most lives would have been wasted, the economy would have been paralyze.

It is high time we realize that no matter the situation, the legitimate demands of the workers needs to be met by the government.
