This, this was reveled during oversight visit by the Senate committee on Mine and Steel Development Chaired by Senator Ndubueze to the ministry of steel.
Senator Ndubueze called for a stakeholders conference to address the challenges confronting the Steel Industry in Nigeria.
However, Sen Ndubueze said the ministry of steel Development remains a vitaly Agency Government for Industrial Development. he expressed optimism that the National Assembly will continue to play its constitutional role in ensuring that Steel Industry in Nigeria resume production.
Furthermore, Senator Ndubueze urged the ministry of Steel to consider technological research and Steel Development, using Technology Institution in Nigeria.
Moreso, the minister of steel, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu said the visit is an opportunity for the ministry to update the senators what the ministry has done so far to revive the Steel Industry in the country.
He called on the National Assembly to support the ministry in its quest to revive the Steel Industry in Nigeria and create jobs for teeming youth.
The minister also bemoaned legal challenge in the last privatisation, saying it has slowed down the Ajaokuta, Itakpe and other steel rolling mills in the country.
