Sports Development Minister John Enoh has confirmed that the future of Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro will be determined after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Based on the Sports Minister’s statement, Peseiro will be part of Nigeria’s squad at the upcoming tournament in Ivory Coast, amid calls for the Portuguese football tactician to be fired after the Poor start in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Enoh admitted that the Ministry of Sports Development has a say over Peseiro’s status as coach of the Super Eagles as they are involved in paying him and agreed a new contract with him earlier this year.
The Minister confirmed that the former Venezuela and Saudi Arabia coach has accepted a pay cut to continue as coach of the Super Eagles.
