The Retail Supermarkets Nigeria Limited (RSNL), better known as Shoprite, with franchise in Nigeria, has finally succeeded in closing its Kano branch situated in Ado Bayero Mall Kano State over economy status in Nigeria.
The so said company had in December 14, 2023, announced the closure of its Kano branch which took effect from January 14, 2024.
This was made known on the X social media handle as Imran Muhammad in a viral video shared empty shelves at the Kano Mall with a voice behind saying that it’s only drinks that were still available at the Shoprite store at the time the video was shot.
Recall that a closing announcement had been made earlier by the company, dated December 7, 2023, signed by Mubertus Rick, stating that the company said the decision to close the store was taken after careful evaluation of its financial situation and the current business climate, likewise the staffs should apply in other branches of the company for immediate employment.
