Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, Amb. Desmond Akawo has resigned.
According to him (Akawor), this was as a result of his appointment by President Bola Tinubu as the designated Federal Commissioner of the Mobilization, Allocation and Revenue Taxation Commission, RMAFC.
In a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Thursday, it was noted that the new Federal Commissioner of RMAFC, who represents Rivers State, was appointed following the Tragic death of outgoing Commissioner, Hon. . Asondu Wenah Temple, earlier this month. However, on Friday, Akawor submitted his letter and sent it to the party’s acting president, Amb. Umar Damagum, announced that he has been nominated to serve in the federal government by the opposition All Progressive Congress.
