The Police Service Commission (PSC), has made it known that total number of 136,177 candidates had been screened as police recruitment exercise progresses.
108,768 out of the 136,177 candidates screened, have successfully been uploaded, while the remaining candidates are yet to be uploaded due to the challenges from fluctuating networks.
Head, Press and Public Relations PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, had in a statement while speaking on the screening update of the ongoing screening exercise on Tuesday, said that the Police Service Commission, through the Police Recruitment Board, is currently screening 416,270 Nigerian youths who have shown interest and applied to be considered for a career in the Nigeria Police Force, saying the candidates are being subjected to physical and credentials screening.
Meanwhile, the Commission has with the opportunity of the ongoing recruitment exercise, upgraded and automated the processes to ensure its credibility and create a measurable standard for final selection of successful candidates where the results/outcome of the screening exercise are uploaded real time to the Commission’s portal and monitored by the Situation Room set up and led by the Commission.
Solomon Arase, the PSC Chairman, and National Coordinator for the recruitment exercise, revealed his contentment with the members of the Police Recruitment Board, commission staff and the police officials for their commitment towards the screening exercise, commending the improvement, “let’s maintain this momentum and strive for even greater achievements”, he said.
Arase also assuring the candidates that everyone would be screened and no one should panic and that admitting candidates into public service would be made easy as long as due protocols are being followed.
He said, “When we get it right at the entry point, we would have almost gotten sixty percent quality in the expected performance of the Officers and that is our objective.”
