Anambra State security operatives, has recovered two out of three abducted children of the same parents, the three children were stolen by a motorcyclist in Amaba Ime, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State and has been rescued and returned back to their parents.
They were recovered in two different towns Ekwulobia and Nkpor respectively and was confirmed by Mr Osinachi Nwaka, the Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, when he was visited by the Abia State members of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, led by Promise Uzoma Okoro.
Osinachi, made known that a Reverend sister has been arrested and detained by the police for allegedly child trafficking in connection with the case.
Noting that the abduction of the three children has been giving him a sleepless night which prompted him to organized series of meetings with various arms of security agencies, he also commended the Abia State Commissioner of Police and heads of other security agencies in the state in rescuing the children and assuring the recovery of the remaining one child to be found soon.
The Mayor requested the cooperation of the general public together with OMPAN members to unravel the masterminds of the illicit trade in order to bring them to book. He also advised parents to be more careful and be vigilant with their kids and caution schools against sending pupils away from school because of non-payment of school fees.
Nwama said: “There are syndicates in every local government that trade on children. It amazes me that a man that bought one of the first boys paid N1.8m to buy life.
“A Reverend Sister is the middle person that distributes the children and collects her cut, she’s wearing white and still in state CID till today.”
