Ondo Government announces 10-Day Burial Programme of Late Governor Akeredolu

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has held a state cabinet meeting with burial planning committee on the program of burial ceremony of Late Ex-governor Rotimi Akeredolu which will commence from 15th of February to 25th.

In accordance with the outline of events, the burial ceremony of the late Ex-governor of Ondo state would begin with a crusade in Akure on 15th of February.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa held a state cabinet meeting and unveiled the burial planning committee.

Recalled that Richard Olatunde,late governor’s spokesperson, posted on the X social media handle, that plane conveying the body of the Akeredolu arrived on Friday, January 5, 2024 at about 3:39 p.m from Germany where his body was received by his wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, his children, and siblings led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother of the deceased.

The burial programmes drafted by the state government reads, “FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN, CON. 15th – 25rh February, 2024.

Thursday 15 – Crusade, Akure;

Friday 16, Jumat Service, Akure;

Monday 19, February 2024 – Valedictory Service & NBA Tributes, Ibadan.
“4pm – Service of Songs @ All Saints Church, Jericho, & Jacob and Grace chapel, Ologun -eru simultaneously;

Tuesday 20 – Commendation Service @ 10am all saints church Jericho. & Lying in State @ his residence-Jericho Ibadan;

Wednesday 21, Ondo state programme @ Akure from 10am.

Thursday 22, Service of Songs @ Owo, 4-7pm; St. Andrews church Owo;

Friday 23, Funeral Service @ 10 am, St.Andrews church, Owo; Reception @ Mydas hotel;

Sunday 25 – Thanksgiving Service @10 am, St. Andrews church Owo.”

Six Governors from Southwest, region and Governors Forum of Nigeria; Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Ekiti, had through Governor Dapo Abiodun who led three other South-West governors on a condolence visit to the family of late Akeredolu at their Jericho, Ibadan residence promised their collaboration with Aiyedatiwa and the family of Akeredolu to give him a befitting burial.
