Onanuga – Food inflation dropping

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the dropping in price of food as declining state of food inflation within the country.

This was made known by Onanuga in a post on his X social media handle, stating that the prices of food stuffs
are drastically dropping in the market.

He wrote: “Food inflation is coming down as prices of yam, tomatoes decline massively.”

Reacting to the prices of tomatoes in the market, he said tomatoes’ basket is currently selling for about N55,000 to N60,000 compared to N150,000 a few months ago, while large basket of habanero pepper (rodo) is now selling for an average of N25,000, compared to N55,000 in the market before.
