Ogun Stare first civilian Gov. Onabanjo, rememberd by Afenifere

Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, had on Sunday, enjoined aspiring you politicians and political office holders to recognize the Ex-governor of Ogun, late Victor Olabisi Onabanjo, in all their policy implementation.

Hon. Wale Adedayo, who is the State Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, had in a statement on Sunday celebrated his 34 years of Denise, said, “We celebrate the passage of an icon today, whose exemplary conduct in office has been a source of inspiration to many. Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo answered the final call on 14 April 1990, making it 34 years ago today that he joined our ancestors.

“His legacies, among many others, include Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State Television, Oba Lipede Market, Abeokuta, New Market, Ijebu Ode and the Ogun State Hotels (renamed Gateway Hotels).
“His tenure witnessed tremendous positive developments across the 20 local governments of Ogun State. He was not after personal or family benefits, but the interest of the common man/woman on the street in accordance with the ethos of Afenifere, “life more abundant for the people.

“This is why we are asking those ready to join partisan politics and others who are already holding positions to act in the way Onabanjo did in order to bring succour to our people.

“A politician can leave a good name after his/her demise, which generations after the person would remember for the benefit of his/her descendants.”
