Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have effected the arrest of one Afolabi Taiwo, 23 years old at Abioro community in Sango Ota as part of the command’s efforts to combat criminal activities in Sango Ota, Ogun State. Afolabi was arrested by diligent agents of the Sango Police Department with the assistance of the So Safe Corps, after attempting to commit a crime.

The incident occurred on November 1, 2023 when Afolabi jumped into the complainant’s residence on Abioro Street. Fortunately, the complainant’s quick reporting attracted the attention of neighbors, so Afolabi was arrested at the scene.

During subsequent interrogation, Afolabi confessed to being a member of the banned Eiye Brotherhood cult group. He confessed to starting the cult in 2020 in Ajah, Lagos State. This disclosure is of paramount importance as it will enable police to gather further intelligence and accelerate efforts to arrest other members involved in Afolabi’s claims.

It is reassuring that Ogun State remains peaceful thanks to the concerted efforts of the Ogun State Police Command under the supervision and commitment of the Commissioner of Police, CP ALAMUTU ABIODUN MUSTAPHA. The Commissioner has demonstrated his dedication in ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors to Ogun State. Its proactive approach inspires confidence and deters potential criminals, ensuring people can sleep with both eyes.

It is commendable that the joint operation between the police and the So Safe Corps led to the arrest of Afolabi and foiled his criminal plot. Cooperation between these security agencies is essential to create a safe and secure environment for the community. This success will remind criminals that their actions will not go unpunished and that authorities are actively working to maintain public order.

The arrest of Afolabi Taiwo is just one step in the ongoing war against crime. The end of the cultists who refuse to give up will have serious consequences as the Police Commissioner CP ALAMUTU will continue to hunt down criminals by busting their criminal activities especially during the monsoon season. Christmas is approaching.
