The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Badagry, under the distinguished leadership of Navy Captain B. O. Omotayo, today conducted a highly impactful Medical Rhapsody outreach for residents of Iworo and Epeme communities in Badagry, Lagos State.
The exercise recorded an impressive turnout as over 759 of the host community members received free medical consultations, medications, and essential health sensitization as projected. A substantial volume of drugs and medical supplies was dispensed, reflecting the Navy’s commitment to enhancing community health and welfare.
Speaking at the event, the Commanding Officer noted that the Medical Rhapsody was conducted in alignment with the Nigerian Navy’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) objectives, and in strict compliance with the strategic directives of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I. Abbas, aimed at strengthening trust, partnership, and security within host communities.
In his remarks, the Traditional Ruler of Iworo Kingdom, Hon. Friday Kosoko, commended Captain Omotayo for his remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the local populace. He expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the community and the local council to the Commanding Officer, the officers and men of FOB Badagry, and the Nigerian Navy at large.
The presence of all officers and ratings of FOB Badagry further underscored the Base’s collective dedication to fostering goodwill, enhancing maritime security awareness, and deepening cooperation between the Navy and its host communities.
The Nigerian Navy remains committed to sustaining such initiatives as part of its broader mandate to ensure national security, promote public welfare, and reinforce positive civil-military relations.
