The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has officially made it known that Starlink has of recent reviewed its subscription packages without taking approval from the Commission.
This was made known on Tuesday in a statement by Reuben Muoka, the Director, Public Affairs of NCC, stating that the Starlink’s decision to review it’s subscription packages upwards was without the approval of the NCC.
Adding that the Starlink’s action and License Conditions regarding tarrifs was in violation of Sections 108 and 111 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003.
However, the Commission had on 3rd of October, 2024 commenced pre-enforcement action on the licensee.
He said: “The company’s decision to adjust its prices without approval undermines regulatory stability in the telecommunications sector.
“We will take appropriate enforcement measures against any such actions by licensees.”
