The Nigerian Senate will today Tuesday, 29th of October 2024, screen the last week’s nominated ministers by President Bola Tinubu.
It should be recalled that President Bola Tinubu had on 24th of October 2024, written a letter seeking the screening and confirmation of the seven nominated ministers to the upper legislative chamber. Letter which was addressed to Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, was read during Thursday’s plenary.
The ministerial nominees include: Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs and Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Development; Dr Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State, Education; Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development and Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing.
As at the time of filing this report, its clear that the nominated ministers had already been cleared by the Department of State Services (DSS).
