The Ogun state government had on Saturday announced the 2024 local government Chairmanship and Councilorship election results.
This was revealed by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) in the state.
In accordance with the OGSIEC, the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged winner in the state in all the 20 Local Government Areas and 236 wards.
According to Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, the OGSIEC Chairman, who made the announcement at the Commission’s headquarters in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, presented the polls’ official results in a live broadcast where he revealed that a total number of 613,156 votes were casted in the Chairmanship elections in all the 20 local government areas.
19 political parties participated in the election which includes Accord Party (AP), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Allied People’s Movement (APM), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Action People’s Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Boot Party (BP), People’s Redemption Party (PRP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
Certificate of returns presentation to the winners is slated for Monday as at the time of filing this report.
