The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has finally embark on the journey of salary increment as he increases the minimum wage for Lagos state workers from N35,000 to N70,000.
This has been a long awaiting decision by the state government which marks a significant shift in the financial landscape for thousands of civil servants in Nigeria and this has highlight disparities in economic capabilities among Nigerian states and to also put pressure on other regions to reevaluate their wage structures.
However, other states have been struggling to meet up with even the federal minimum wage of N30,000.
Labor unions and lots of civil servants have lauded the Governor’s decision as long-overdue one.
