The Kano State Police Command has made significant breakthroughs in its efforts to combat crime in the state, arresting three suspected armed robbers and recovering firearms and ammunition.
- In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD NPM, on sustained intelligence-led policing for prevention of crimes, the Command’s Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) Base, Dorayi while acting on credible intelligence on the direction of the Commissioner of Police, arrested a suspected armed robber, Isyaku Maude, ‘m’, 37 years old, popularly known as ‘Dan Sokoto’, of Bachirawa Quarters, Kano. The suspect confessed to committing a series of armed robberies within Kano Metropolis with his syndicate members.
- Discreet investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects: Sahabi Danladi, ‘m’, 20 years old, of Kofar Mata Quarters Kano and Najib Ibrahim, ‘m’, 32 years old, of Bachirawa Quarters Kano. The following exhibits were recovered from them: a Beretta pistol with breach No. 2322892, a fabricated Beretta pistol, and twenty-three (23) rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
- The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, commended the officers for their commitment and thanked the good people of the state for their support and cooperation. The investigations are ongoing.
