Kano state CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel discusses security situation leading up to the Kano State Governorship Supreme Court ruling

The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc, held a press briefing at the Police Headquarters Bompai, Kano on December 8, 2023, to discuss the security situation leading up to the Kano State Governorship Supreme Court ruling, as well as the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The police command commends the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for maintaining their position on standing by the peace accord.

The joint security agencies in the state will remain committed to the protection of the lives and properties of all residents in the state.

The police command has embarked on courtesy visits to religious leaders across the major faiths in the state to promote peaceful coexistence and community-based policing.

The command has been in the spotlight due to the recruitment of repentant criminals as constabularies, which has sparked outrage and raised concerns among Nigerians.

The command, led by Commissioner of Police Muhammed Usaini Gumel, is responsible for maintaining peace and security in Kano State, Nigeria.
