The Kano High Court, has given approval to the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSAIC), to conduct Saturday’s local government election in the state, this was presided by Justice Sunusi Ado Maaji.
This was confirmed in Kano on Friday when Justice Maaji affirmed this in his Judgement in the Federal High Court.
He said: the judgment given is according to the laws of the land and as a state issue, gives him more powers over the Judgment of the Federal High Court.
Muntari Garba Dandago, who is the Legal Counsel to the Commission and also Commissioner of Legal Voters Matters of KANSAIC, while speaking on the latest judgement said, the judgment is a landmark one which affirmed their powers to conduct the election.
Adding that the judgment has also directed the Police and all other security agencies to ensure that they give full protection and coverage of the Local government elections on Saturday.
