Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has welcomed the judgment of the Court of Appeal confirming his victory in the March 18, 2023 election in the state.

The People’s Democratic Party and its candidate, Isah Ashiru, have challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Sani as the winner of the election in the North West state.

INEC Returning Officer, Professor Lawal Bilbis, who announced the results, said the APC candidate received 730,002 votes while his closest rival, Ashiru of the PDP, received 719,196 votes.

He added that the Labor Party candidate, Jonathan Asake, secured 58,283 votes to come third, while the New Nigerian People’s Party candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, came fourth with 21,405 votes. , while the total number of rejected ballots was 19,114. However, dissatisfied with the decision, the PDP and its candidate appealed the court’s ruling.

But the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday upheld the ruling of the three-man election tribunal headed by Justice Victor Oviawe, upholding Sani’s victory.

While expressing joy and gratitude at the confirmation of his victory by the Court of Appeal, Sani also reached out to all opposition parties in his bid to move the state forward in tandem with the #SUSTAINKaduna agenda.
