JUST IN: Patients ran for safety as LAUTECH Teaching Hospital caught fire

Fire broke out today at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching hospital, Ogbomoso in Oyo State, destroyed Property worth millions of naira.

This happened in the early hours of today Saturday around 5am at the paedriatrics consultant office and was reported that the fire gutted the Emergency and Accident Unit of the hospital.

This was confirmed on Saturday to newsmen by Omotayo Ogunleye, Public Relations Officer to the hospital.

Some of their office equipments, books, engines, electronic gadgets, roof and ceiling worth millions of naira were burnt

Someone within the hospital who remain anonymous said that the fire incident is suspected to have started from electric spark after which 16 patients had to be quickly rushed out of the ward.

However, Ogunleye in a telephone conversation with Newsmen noted that the hospital have resumed activities normally.

He said, “Yes it is true. It is a minor incident. But, normal activities have resumed in the hospital.”
