JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu’s bail denied by high court, orders accelerated hearing

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, had on Tuesday, denied bail of Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), while delivering ruling, also held that the court would only grant an accelerated hearing in the matter and ordered the prosecution to call its first witness.

The federal high court has ordered accelerated hearing of the case which involved the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, while facing charges on terrorism-related.

IPOB leader, who has been in Department of State Services (DSS) custody since June 2021.

Aloy Ejimakor, who is the Counsel for Kanu, made known his infuriation over the ruling, said the IPOB leader’s legal team can no longer go on with the proceedings except opportunity to speak with their client is given and which has been granted by the court, adding that it’s been a difficult thing to meet with Kanu in the custody of the DSS, as their conversations with Kanu was always monitored and Kanu is still wearing the same outfit which the court ordered to be changed of which he alleged as maltreatment of their client.
