JUST IN: NLC shuts JEDC over electricity price hike

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), headquarters in Plateau State has been shut down by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), over the electricity price increase.

News was gathered that the staffs of the JEDC was left stranded outside of the main building as labour union blocked the main gate of the company.

NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, had announced their conclusion on shutting down the offices of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Distribution Companies (DisCos) nationwide as a result of their failure to comply with their demand of total reversal of the electricity tariff hike.
