“It will be good to see him again but that doesn’t stop us from going there and beat him” – Onuachu

Paul Onuachu, the Nigeria striker, had on Monday made known his intensions over the victory confidence on a match against Benin today Monday.

This was Nigeria’s third game draw in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and this has mounted pressure on their chances of qualifying for the World Cup following it’s draw game of 1-1 against South Africa in Uyo at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Ahead of the match between the Super Eagles and Benin, Onuachu stated that he is looking forward to meeting Rohr as he was the one that gave him his Super Eagles debut in 2019 but will leave the pleasantries for outside the pitch, as he targets a win.

He said, “It will be good to see him again and say hello because he gave me my first call-up. I thank him for that and I appreciate him. But that doesn’t stop us from going there and beat him,” Onuachu told Nigerian journalist Modo Victor.
