However, Senator Kingibe bemoaned that though demolitions are allowed in Abuja, it must have legal backing the lawmaker stated this while fielding questions from newsmen today at National Assembly Complex Abuja.
She, said the level of insecurity in FCT and the country at large is alarming that many things have be to discuss with the minister (Wike) though demolitions are allowed but you need to come with a court order you cannot just come and knock down people houses, you need to prepare the people before demolishing they houses.
She, further stated that obviously Wike and I have different goals, he was appointed and I am elected, his accountable only to the President and to us while oversight him and I am accountable to the people that is what makes everything works that wike should also understand that the National Assembly is also the state Assembly for the FCT.
Wike have to understand that the three of us, the two members of House of Reps and myself are the representatives of the people within the FCT that the residents choses to represent their interest on the way forward, Senator Kingibe said “well, he (Wike) is new in the Territory, am still hoping that we will understand that working together will benefit the residents much more than each person on its own” Kingibe concluded.
