Today, which is the 1st day of October 2024, marks the Nigeria 64th Independence Day. Nigerians nationwide have come out in mass to the streets to protest against bad governance.
The protest had been planned over some time which drew lots of crowd in major cities like Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, with people gathering at key locations such as Eagle Square, Ikeja Under Bridge, and Freedom Park.
Omoyele Sowore, a Lagos Activist, also joined protesters on the street of Lagos to protest against bad governance. They are marching to Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota to demonstrate.
The protest demonstration against bad governance are also taking place in every other states of the country aside the earlier forementioned cities. Stay tuned for updates as the situation unfolds today, October 1, 2024.
