Lucky Ayedatiwa, the Ondo state governor, has begin to extend his gesture by helping the widows in Ondo state to expand their businesses, as they are their family breadwinners.
Not less than 66 widows of late heroes in the state, received N30 million in micro-credit revolving loans from the Ondo State Governor as the Armed Forces Remembrance Day was celebrated on Monday 15th of January 2024.
Cheques were presented to the widows at the Cenotaph in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, where the governor expressed that he made the gesture to help the businesses of the women who had become the breadwinners of their families since their husbands’ demise.
He stated that the loans were disbursed at zero interest, such that the burden of refunding would not add to the economic challenges faced by the widows.
He said, “It is the plan of our administration to continually put smiles on the faces of the widows and children of the fallen heroes. We, therefore, crave your understanding and support to make it sustainable.”
“As we round off this year’s celebration, I want to seize this opportunity to commend the efforts of all stakeholders, both military and civilian, who have devoted their time and resources to collaborate and make today’s event a reality.”
