A 40-year-old father in Lagos, had on Wednesday been remanded in Kirikiri Correction Centre by Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ court for allegedly raping his two daughters.
The man was apprehended by the police and was charge with rape.
Meanwhile, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, the Chief Magistrate, refused to take the man’s apology for want in jurisdiction and adjourned his case till June 26 for legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
ASP Raji Akeem, the previous Prosecutor, made the court know that the wife caught him molesting their seven-year-old daughter and assaulting their five-year-old daughter too, which the offence was committed between September 2021 and May.
The wife of the accused reported the case to the police at the station and the defendant was arrested.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
