DIG FCID, Sadiq Idris Abubakar visits FCID Annex Lagos – charges officers on professionalism and integrity

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar on Wednesday, May 8, 2025. undertook an official familiarization tour of the FCID Annex, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Received by AIG Margaret Ochalla and her management team, while addressing officers and men under FCID Annex, DIG Abubakar reiterated commitment, Discipline, and professionalism as he Applauded the officers for their exceptional performance and dedication to duty based on feedback. He emphasized the critical importance of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards, urging all personnel to maintain proper appearance, uphold punctuality, and demonstrate unwavering respect for human rights in all engagements.

During the visit, the DIG issued key administrative directives and firmly cautioned against all forms of misconduct, including bribery, extortion, and unprofessional investigative practices. He stressed that FCID personnel must uphold the highest policing standards to build public trust and preserve the integrity of the Nigeria Police Force.

He further assured officers that welfare concerns, particularly in the area of accommodation, are receiving urgent and sustained attention from the Force leadership.

The visit concluded with an inspection of the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), where DIG Abubakar met with team leaders and reinforced his expectations of discipline, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery.
