A four-day ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas began on Friday, with hostages to be released in exchange for prisoners, the first major amnesty after seven weeks of war. took the lives of thousands of people.
Both sides agreed to silence gunfire and stop bombing from 7am (0500 GMT) in the conflict that erupted after deadly attacks by Hamas in Israel on October 7.
According to Qatari mediators, as part of the deal, 13 women and children held hostage in Gaza are expected to be released at 4 p.m. (2 p.m. GMT), followed by a number of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
Within 4 days, at least 50 hostages are expected to be freed, leaving about 190 hostages in the hands of Palestinian rebels.
In return, 150 Palestinian prisoners will be released.
