An Irish restaurateur, Alan Fisher, has usurped Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest culinary race.

Fisher broke the record for longest marathon cooking by an individual after clocking 119 hours and 57 minutes.

His achievement lasted 24 hours longer than the previous record set by Baci.

Fisher, a chef who runs his own restaurant in Japan, also won the longest individual baking marathon with a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes.

The previous record holder was Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours and 16 minutes. Guinness World Records revealed his achievement on its X account on Tuesday.
