Some suspected fire raisers have reportedly set the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Rivers State secretariat in Port Harcourt ablaze
The sad incident happened in the early hours on Saturday, few hours to the Local Government poll in the state.
In accordance with the circulated video clips online, the incident which was suspected to be from explosive agent, destroyed the APC secretariat main gate and together with security house and parts of adjoining building.
Chief Tony Okocha, the State caretaker committee chairman of the main opposition party confirmed this.
However, Okocha allegedly accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s supporters of the attack.
He wrote: “At the wee hours of Saturday, pro-Fubara civilian soldiers detonated dynamites at our office.
“The second attempt to set it ablaze was foiled as the security at the gate quickly put out the fire.”
