Abacha $150 million Loot: Group urges Tinubu to ensure judicious use

By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

The Coalition for Democracy in Nigeria (CODIN) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that the loot recovered from former head of state, General Sanni Abacha, is properly accounted for.

The pro-democracy group made the call when its chairman, Mashood Erubami, addressed members at the end of an emergency meeting in Ibadan yesterday.

He made this comment in response to France’s decision to return another Abacha loot worth $150 million, saying, “Recovery of such loot by corrupt leaders is a threat to the population. We must continue to outperform and continue to take responsibility.” We must be made aware that we are members of the nation. ”

Furthermore, he calls for functional synergy between the FG and the criminal justice system, particularly those in the judiciary.
