The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi on Tuesday, 4th August, 2026, delivered a lecture to officers of the command, charging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, strengthen community policing, and redouble their efforts in advancing the vision of the Inspector-General of Police through efficient, people-centred policing.
The CP urged senior officers to mentor younger personnel, directed investigating officers to promptly charge completed cases to the court and to avoid unnecessary detention of suspects, and reminded all officers that civility, respect for human rights, and professionalism in their interactions with members of the public are fundamental to effective policing.
