The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Moscow has received with joy the arrival of a new Head of Mission His Excellency, Ambassador Olusola Iji, who arrived in the Russian Federation to assume duty as Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia.
Ambassador Iji was received in Moscow by senior officials of the Embassy and representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Togo, Ambassador Sola Iji brings to Moscow a strong record of service in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, peace and conflict resolution, economic diplomacy, and consular affairs.
Speaking on arrival, Ambassador Iji expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in him to serve at the Nigerian Mission in Moscow.
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding and cordial relations between Nigeria and the Russian Federation.
“My mandate is to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, science and technology, energy, and security, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President. I look forward to working closely with the Russian authorities, the Nigerian community, and all stakeholders to advance our shared interests,” Ambassador Iji stated.
The Embassy will, in due course, announce arrangements for Ambassador Iji to present his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Vladimir Putin in line with diplomatic protocols.
